Composites
This is a type of
product whose main components consist of reinforcing fiberglass encased in a
polymer resin matrix (resin,
minerals, pigments, additives) which catalyzes it into its final form.
There are a variety of production methods to manufacture composites and we
have the experience and expertise in all of them.
FRP (fiberglass
reinforcing polymers) Composites are far superior to conventional materials
like metal and wood. With properties like corrosion resistance and
durability, they have virtually no maintenance and are very cost effective and economical. FRP
composites also are have a very good strength to weight ratio, are
light-weight and are able to perform in the toughest and hazardous
environments, it's no wonder that an increasing number of products are being
made of FRP Composites.

Pultrusion
Pultrusion is a
continuous production process in which reinforcing fiberglass (roving, mat,
cloth or veil) and a polymer resin matrix
are pulled through a heated die; this polymerizes the resin-saturated
fibers into the final profile. As the profile is being continuously
pulled, it is automatically cut to the required length and given its
continuous nature, the pultrusion process is particularly suitable, both
technologically and economically, for large scale production.
We custom design
each
pultrusion taking into account the economics of the pultrusion process,
including the shape and its effects on processing efficiency, together with
a custom designed resin
formula for maximum cost value. We also identify and adapt for other
important aspects you've specified such as resistance to chemical corrosion or raising the
resistance to water impregnation.
With their
excellent mechanical properties and low specific weight (one quarter of
steel), fiberglass composite profiles made from pultrusion are especially useful where a high
load bearing capacity and low weight is needed, thus lessening foundation
loads or in areas with high salt-water content which particularly corrosive.
The high strength, low weight, and durability of these materials, make
pultrusions ideal for retrofitting reinforced concrete or wooden structures. They are
commonly used to reinforce roadway pillars, floor beams, or columns made of
reinforced concrete or other materials.
Common Applications for Pultrusions
Some common applications of Pultruded Products Include:
- Structural Beams
- Structural Shapes
- Hand Railing
- Flooring Supports
- Ladders
- Joists
- Tank Supports
- Fencing |
Standard Shapes are Round Rods, Tubes,
Semi-Circles, Beams, Hollow Beams, ‘I’ sections, ‘T’
sections, 'C' Channels and Angles.
